You had to feed him, let him sleep, and make sure he had bathroom breaks. The game was created before the anime, so it took its inspiration from the Tamagotchi. Your Digimon aged, died, and was reborn as a baby. The special thing about Digimon World was the way you raised your monster. It was exactly what I’d expected after spending so much time with the Digimon virtual pet. So when I got the first Digimon World on the PlayStation as a reward for good grades, I was totally ecstatic. The Digimon anime, games, and cards were all born from the blooping virtual pet. I didn’t know it then, but Digimon was created as a “boy’s” Tamagotchi that was the birth of it all. My sister had one too, and we’d battle each other all the time. You took care of a monster (that could grow into one of many cool, stronger monsters) that fought other people’s monsters! Ingenious. The Digimon virtual pet* was my absolute favorite. That’s not what it’s all about, Home Goods Store! It’s about feeding, caring, raising, and watching as they evolve. Even my child-self was put off by the false claims that were printed on the packaging. The dog stayed a dog, the rabbit stayed a rabbit.
They never grew into new forms, but did age and die after a while. You selected a typical pet to “raise”, but all you did was play minigames. There was the Dinkie Dino and that weird egg-shaped one that my mom wrote my name on (and then I got mad and rubbed nail polish remover on it until the permanent marker was eaten off), and the crappy blue one that came from a home goods store. I never had a Tamagotchi, but I had a whole bunch of gadgets in the same family. My childhood was speckled with virtual pet key chains. Since Digimon World Re:Digitize is celebrating the series’ 15th anniversary and has very strong ties to the first Digimon World on PS1, this breaks my little monster-loving heart. The North American and European branches of Namco Bandai appear depressingly uninterested in Digimon. And not to be a Negative Nancy, but it probably won’t be seen outside of it.
DIGIMON V PET TRAINING EFFECTIVENESS PSP
It’s scheduled for release on PSP on July 19th in Japan. I don't think Digimon Heroes can be called social game however but it has mecanics from those type of games.I am in physical pain whenever I see updates on Digimon World Re:Digitize. I haven't played DQ Monsters Super Light but it's more like Digimon Heroes in which friends gives you "buff". Normally the base of the social aspect is giving you stuff or comparing yourself in a leaderboard. You have your "garden" / house / bases and you can visit your friend's garden/whatevs but you don't see them really, it's asynchronous (don't know the word in english, so not sure if it the right word, it's asynchrone in french) so you see an "IA" simulating your friend and your garden. Sims Social, FarmVille, NearlyEveryZyngaGame. It can affect ALL actions or it can affect a certain type of actons, I hope it's not for all actions as it makes a game really tedious.Ī social game is a game based around your friends. That's normally what it's for and when you don't have any energy left, you have to wait 20/40/60+ minutes to replenish itself (or you can pay).
The energy system maybe for doing actions. Well yes, Farmville looks like what you've described (I haven't played either but from what I know and those type of games, it's this). I hope energy isnt used for multiplayer battles or for caring for your digimon and is only used for upgrading your farm or possible training minigames.ītw what's a social game? A game in which you and your friends can play co-op, visit eachothers houses/bases, send messages, form alliances, etc or just a game that has you log in using a social network account and lets you pick an AI controlled partner based on an actual player that you otherwise have no interaction with whatsoever (like DQ Monsters Super Light or Digimon Heroes)? In one of the trailers there was what seemed to be a meat farm being upgraded, and what looked like two currency meters (one with a + next to it so its probably a premium currency) and a possible energy system. I never played farmville but isnt it like, you gain resources as time passes, you use them to build stuff, building stuff lets you gain resources faster and build more stuff, you can pay (or spam your friends on facebook) to get resources faster, and a lot of stuff are timed events? I would assume they'll add elements of that to your personal digifarm, and the resources can be used for raising your digimon too.
